How to add a new account?

  1. Tap the "+" button at the top right of the main screen.
  2. Select "Scan QR Code": Point your camera at the 2FA QR code provided by your service.
  3. If scanning fails, select "Enter Manually": Enter the Secret and Account Name provided by the service.

How to edit or delete an account?

  • Edit: Swipe right on an account entry and tap the "Edit" icon.
  • Delete: Swipe left on an account entry and tap the red "Delete" icon.
  • Reorder: Long-press an entry and drag it up or down to adjust the order.

☁️ Sync & Apple Watch

How to enable iCloud Sync?

Go to Settings within the app and ensure the iCloud Sync option is on. Your account data will be encrypted and synced via CloudKit to your other iOS devices. Secret keys are stored in the system's iCloud Keychain, which is protected with end-to-end encryption.

Why is my Apple Watch not syncing?

  1. Ensure your accounts are saved on your iPhone.
  2. Ensure Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled on both your iPhone and Apple Watch.
  3. Ensure both devices are signed into the same Apple ID with iCloud enabled.
  4. The app uses real-time sync; updates on your iPhone should reflect on your Watch within seconds.

🔒 Security & Privacy

What if I forget my App Lock passcode?

Glass Authenticator uses system biometrics (Face ID / Touch ID). If biometrics fail repeatedly, it will fall back to your device passcode. As long as you know your phone's unlock code, you can access the app.

Will I lose my data if I change my phone?

iCloud Recovery: If you sign in with the same Apple ID on your new phone and enable iCloud, your data will restore automatically.

Encrypted Backup: We recommend using the Settings → Export Accounts feature periodically to create an encrypted backup file and store it safely.

🛠 Troubleshooting

Codes are correct but login fails?

The most common reason is time out of sync.

  • TOTP algorithms rely on highly accurate time.
  • Check your iPhone's Settings → General → Date & Time and ensure "Set Automatically" is enabled.
  • Even a 30-second discrepancy can cause codes to be invalid.

Why can't I see the Apple Watch complications?

  1. Open the "Watch" app on your iPhone, find Glass Authenticator, and confirm it's installed.
  2. In your watch face's edit mode, search for "Glass Auth" to add the complication.
